That’s very comforting for the families of those who lost loved ones in the tragic shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. More talking, no specifics, just more talking from the White House.
If you read the transcript of his speech, there is no mention of Christianity, Christians or the like in his speech. Instead, he went on the rhetorical offensive against guns, without offering clear policy solutions other than the general statement, “common sense gun regulations.”
Chris Mintz, a U.S. Army veteran and student at the college, rushed the shooter to stop him from killing more people. He was shot and wounded in the process, and is expected to recover.
The shooter killed at least ten people yesterday before a shootout with police ended his life. But, he reportedly asked victims if they were Christians and then shot them. Our thoughts and condolences to the families and friends of those affected.
