Here is what ABC News reported on Hillary Clinton’s SCOTUS comments, which ranged from pushing LGBT narratives and abortion, as well as anti-Citizens United: If given the opportunity, Clinton said that she would “look broadly and widely for people who represent the diversity of our country” in an interview with the Tom Joyner Morning Show […]
Can’t someone else be authorized to perform gay/homosexual/same-sex marriages in her stead? This seems punitive. A state agency wants to remove a small-town judge in Wyoming from two posts because she told a reporter that her religious beliefs would prevent her from solemnizing same-sex marriages. In her full-time responsibilities, Municipal Judge Ruth Neely isn’t authorized […]
Roy Moore, the top justice in the Alabama’s Supreme Court, said that state probate judges should refrain from issuing marriage licenses for same-sex/homosexual/gay couples.
This move was to preserve the religious freedom of clerks who may object to same-sex marriage on religious grounds, after Rowan County clerk Kim Davis spent time in jail over the conflict between her religious beliefs and the Obergefell ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court.
This executive action by newly-elected GOP Governor Matt Bevin will help avoid situations such as clerks not signing marriage licenses, as in the case with Kentucky clerk Kim Davis.
Fox News reported: The lawyer for Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who was briefly jailed earlier this month after refusing to grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples, claimed Tuesday that Davis met with Pope Francis during the pontiff’s visit to Washington D.C. last week. There was no immediate confirmation from the Vatican that the meeting took […]
Fox News reported the remarks: Speaking at a Democratic Party fundraiser, Obama said it’s important to recognize that some parts of the country remain uncomfortable with same-sex marriage and that it will take time for them to catch up to the majority of Americans who support such unions. But while Americans hold dear the constitutional […]
The hoopla that surrounded Democratic Rowan County clerk Kim Davis will probably subside after her release from prison, over her religious objections to signing marriage licenses to homosexual couples as an elected official.
The Washington Post didn’t mention how the clerk, Kim Clark, was a Democrat until late in their own write-up. Also, as an elected official, the law is the law and should be obeyed. Religious liberty may not apply in this instance.
