With all the hand-wringing and criticism of Donald Trump from the Left and liberal media about his criticism of the press, real anti-media and anti-free speech actions are taking place in socialist Venezuela. As of Thursday, the Venezuelan government has kicked a CNN network off the air.
This is a major blow to democracy and the freedom of speech and the press: CNN Turk reported that 130 media organizations had been shuttered in a widening crackdown by Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government. A new law was passed in Poland where the government took over media and television, which resulted in protests by tens of thousands of Polish citizens.
Melissa Click, an assistant professor of mass media at the University of Missouri, tried to get other students to forcibly remove a student reporter out of the protester’s camp area in the public quad space on campus.
