As the Free Beacon noted, the consequences are serious for deserting to the enemy: The U.S. Army announced Monday that the case of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been recommended for trial by general court-martial. The Army Times reported that Gen. Robert Abrams, the commanding general of Forces Command, made the referral. Bergdahl, who has been charged with desertion and misbehavior before […]
As Fox News reported: “Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his base in Afghanistan June 30, 2009, and by December of that same year, the president’s principal military adviser, then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Mike Mullen, knew those details, according to three of Bergdahl’s platoon mates who spoke to Fox News.”
You could bet money that those prisoner swap documents are being shredded in the White House as we speak, but who knows if those documents will ever come to light.
Retired General Barry McCaffrey said that the White House knew that Bowe Bergdahl did desert the U.S. Army and joined up with the Taliban, and it’s “incomprehensible” that they said he served with honor. Bergdahl is being tried for desertion, as the U.S. Army announced this week.
We agree. How is Bowe Bergdahl not being tried and sentenced to the death penalty, when his desertion to the Taliban led to the deaths of several of our American servicemen who went to look for him?
Bowe Bergdahl-prisoner swap was allowed by the Department of Justice, one source told Fox News. It allowed the Pentagon to bypass Congress without approval or notification of the deal.
Finally, the truth comes out that Bowe Bergdahl deserted his unit in Afghanistan. But, the report has yet to be confirmed, as the source is a former military intelligence officer and the U.S. Army has not confirmed the news.
