Micah Xavier Johnson, an Army veteran, had orchestrated the ambush on Dallas police officers in downtown Dallas, said Dallas police. He killed five officers, wounding seven others, before being killed.
In Valdosta, Georgia, the suspect called 9-1-1 to report a vehicle being broken into and then shot the responding police officer. The officer is expected to recover from his injury and the suspect was also wounded in the subsequent exchange.
Five police officers lost their lives in a sniper-style ambush in downtown Dallas, Texas, and six others were wounded. There were at least two sniper suspects and it led to a standoff that ended at about 3:30 am.
