Dear Mr. Card:

The Bush Administration could have avoided the UAE/ports controversy if it had paid more attention to Senator James Inhofe, who had introduced legislation to require greater scrutiny of foreign acquisitions of U.S. businesses that could affect the U.S. The UAE is said to be an ally, but it is the sponsor of the controversial anti-American Arab satellite channel Al-Arabiya. A captured al-Qaeda document from the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point reveals that al Qaeda has infiltrated the UAE regime. All of these matters require your personal attention.
