Dear Mr. Jones:

Your decision to withdraw sponsorship of the Pentagon’s Freedom Walk to commemorate 9/11 and support our troops was outrageous. As your own paper indicated, you buckled under pressure from the anti-war movement, run by identified Marxists and communists, and criticism from your own left-wing news staffers. The “news” is that while our nation is at war and Americans are fighting and dying, the Washington Post wants to remain neutral. At a time when national unity is required to defeat a determined and fanatical foe, the Post has decided to stand on the sidelines. You want the benefits of freedom but don’t want to support the soldiers who make it possible. Shame on the Post.
