Dear Senator Specter:
Your October 19 Judiciary Committee hearing on the proposed federal media shield law was the second in a row that has been stacked in favor of the bill. The only real critic was Chuck Rosenberg, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas on behalf of the United States Department of Justice. He said the bill was so bad that it would protect terrorist sources for a network like Al-Jazeera. A Justice Department witness at your previous hearing said the bill would protect terrorist “sources” used in Al-Qaeda media operations. If you had permitted a representative of Accuracy in Media to testify in person, all the facts about this dangerous bill could have been presented to the committee. Stop blacklisting AIM from your hearings.
