Dear Mr. Meyers:

You went ahead and honored Martin Baron of the Boston Globe as editor of the year, despite his paper being caught running bogus rape photos from Iraq. The Globe has now been caught in two more embarrassments. The Globe ran a story about a seal hunt that didn’t happen, and Baron admitted significant errors in a story about the Boston “Big Dig” tunnel. The story “did not meet our reporting and editing standards, and we regret that,” Baron said. It should be clear by now that the awarding of your prize to Mr. Baron was in error. The National Press Foundation has been hurt by this controversy. What will you do to repair the damage?
