Dear Mr. Parsons:

Your hired celebrity “comedian” Bill Maher was deadly serious when he said on his HBO program that U.S. military personnel were “low-lying Lynndie England fruit.” But Rep. Spencer Bachus spoke for us when he called the comments reprehensible. It’s time to act on Rep. Bachus’ recommendation and cancel the Maher show. HBO picked up Maher after he lost his ABC program for saying the 9/11 terrorists were courageous and the U.S. military was cowardly. Once again, Maher went too far. This should be the last time a major U.S. network gives him a platform for his outrageous comments. Maher’s apology for the remarks does not mitigate the damage that he has done. Take him off the air before he embarrasses you again and does more damage to our country.
