Dear Senator McCain:

There are moves in the House of Representatives to de-fund public broadcasting and you could take the lead in the Senate. As the leading Senate opponent of pork-barrel spending, you should recognize the wasteful nature of the almost $400 million being spent annually on public TV and radio. While public broadcasting may have served a purpose years ago, the media landscape has changed dramatically and people now have more choices than ever. It is wrong to force the hard-pressed taxpayers to underwrite a TV or radio network they may not want to watch or listen to. Can we count on you to lead the Senate charge for the taxpayers on this issue?
