Dear Mr. Jones:

Your December 29 front-page story co-authored by Robin Wright accusing President Bush of an “absence” during the tsunami disaster was inexcusable. The White House was involved in disaster relief from the day it happened. Even readers of your paper who do not believe the Post is biased against Bush were shocked by this transparent attempt to make the President look bad. Your ombudsman noted that it generated “scores” of critical e-mails and phone calls. Wright has a notorious history of hiding behind anonymous sources to make her political points. Why do you permit this practice to continue?
