Rep. John Murtha
2423 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Rep. Murtha:

You have become a media darling since you came out against the war. It would be one thing if you changed your position and stood by it. But it is clear that you do not want to stand by your position in favor of an immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. You are waffling, now saying a withdrawal or “redeployment” would occur when it is practical. You even voted against a House resolution incorporating your position in favor of an immediate withdrawal. We think you are becoming a media star at the expense of our soldiers on the battlefield. You are playing politics with the lives of our troops and the lives of all Americans who depend on a military victory in Iraq. Please stay off TV and quit sabotaging the war effort.
