Dear Ms. Howell:

It is a tough job being an ombudsman at the Washington Post, and we would normally come to you with our own complaints about the paper for you to act upon. But we were astounded that you criticized the Post for accurately reporting that Rep. Murtha favored an immediate withdrawal from Iraq. We checked the Congressman’s website, too, and found references to an immediate pullout, or, as he calls it, “redeployment.” It is not the job of the Post or its ombudsman to sanitize his position in order to make it more palatable to the American people. Please just tell the truth.
