Dear Ms. Thompson:

The FAIR Foundation, which monitors federal spending on various diseases, has put together a chart on government research spending per death. The group says that too much federal money is being spent on some diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, at the expense of others. What’s more, AIM has published an article by journalist Liam Scheff showing that HIV/AIDS tests are notoriously unreliable. The implication of his report is that much of the spending on AIDS may be wasted or doing harm. You can find this report at the AIM web site www.aim.org under “Special Reports.” Please respond to these serious concerns and questions about AIDS spending.
