Dear Mr. Keller:

Your February 8 front-page article on Senator John Kerry's record whitewashed his role as chairman of a committee investigating the Vietnam POW/MIA issue. You ignored how his conduct on that committee may have been influenced by a Kerry cousin making a real estate deal with Hanoi. Even the Center for Public Integrity has documented this. The statement about Kerry contending with "zealots steeped in Rambo movies" was an ugly dismissal of those who wanted to rescue our soldiers left behind. We urge you to consult former POW Michael Benge of Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry about Kerry's record. POW/MIA researcher Roger Hall can also testify as to Kerry's deceitful conduct on this matter. His phone number is 301-585-3361. If you do not follow up on this information, we will know beyond a doubt that the Times is in Kerry's back pocket.
