Dear Mr. Rather:

Your January 7 broadcast cited a CBS News poll that only 14 percent favored the Bush tax cut as the top congressional priority. But 54 percent in the same poll wanted Congress to help the unemployed and create jobs, which is what the president hopes his tax cut will accomplish. You didn't mention that. Nor did you mention that the president had a 64 percent approval rating, and that Republicans had a favorable rating of 54 percent, up from 51 percent in November. It appears that you concentrated on the poll results that seemed to indicate that Bush and the Republicans were going down the wrong track. This is an example of the liberal media bias that you claim doesn't exist.
