Dear Ms. Moore:

TIME went overboard in promoting what Jonathan Yardley, the book critic of the Washington Post, called campaign literature for Hillary Clinton’s run for reelection to the Senate in 2006 and for the presidency in 2008 or 2012. The excerpts you published included her explanation of her role in the Travelgate scandal-just an off-hand remark she made that caused the White House staff to go to inordinate lengths to correct what she had heard were problems in the Travel Office. The “hell-to-pay” memo of David Watkins, the official who gave the order to fire the Travel Office staff, showed clearly that he was under great pressure from Hillary Clinton to give that order. Even Joe Klein neglected to correct this glaring lie in his review of the book. Accuracy in Media has demonstrated that the book is loaded with lies. If TIME had any respect for the truth, it would expose Senator Clinton’s lies, not spread them.
