Dear Mr. McGrath:

Maureen Dowd’s June 29 treatment of Hillary Clinton’s “Living History” was silly and far below the standards we expect of the New York Times Book Review. Dowd is right in saying that the book is campaign literature for the Hillary Clinton for President campaign. This is why it lies about Travelgate and either lies or is silent about most of the other scandals that tarnished the Clinton administration-Whitewater, Filegate, Fostergate, Hubbellgate, E-mailgate, and Pardongate. Since the Times has been seriously embarrassed by a reporter who had no respect for truth, you should see the importance of selecting reviewers who are capable of spotting and exposing serious lies and factual errors. Dowd didn’t challenge Hillary’s version of Travelgate, not mentioning that Independent Counsel Robert Ray said she had committed perjury.
