To the Editor:

I was disappointed to learn from the AIM Report that your paper was one of many that allowed itself to be influenced by the homosexual public relations machine in reporting on the findings of the 2000 census on the number of households headed by unmarried partners, especially those of the same sex. The homosexual organizations succeeded in planting stories that made it appear that same-sex partnerships are just as normal as those of a man and wife even though they are one percent of the total or less in all but a few areas.

Your story left the impression that same-sex partnerships are stable and deserving of legalization as marriages. Try stories that tell the other side. There is the under-reported story of the same-sex household in Rogers, Ark. where 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising was tied down, gagged and brutally tortured, dying for the sexual satisfaction of his friends, Davis Carpenter, 38, and Joshua Brown, 22.
