After the Trump administration revealed proposed changes to how Title X family-planning funds are distributed — a move that would affect Planned Parenthood — the WNBA said it would stand with the organization to fight “against the Trump administration’s most recent attack on a woman’s right to affordable, safe and comprehensive health care.”

The WNBA announced last week its “Take A Seat, Take A Stand” program, which will donate $5 of every ticket sold to one of six organizations focused on various women’s issues including Planned Parenthood.

After struggling for 22 years, the WNBA hopes supporting Planned Parenthood and entering the political arena by criticizing President Trump will help them fill seats.
