In an exclusive interview set to air Wednesday evening, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt asked Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on why Twitter waited to suspend Infowars Alex Jones’s account and why it will only be for one week compared to the indefinite ban issued by other social media platforms.

Dorsey told Holt that the seven-day “timeout” given to Jones should make him “think” about his actions and behavior.
“Any suspension — whether it be a permanent suspension or a temporary one — makes someone think about their actions, and their behaviors.”
When asked whether he thinks a timeout will change Jones’s behavior, Dorsey said that he didn’t know, but this “is consistent in how we enforce.”
