Good evening and welcome to Rapid Fire, our daily email tip sheet. Here you will find updates to breaking AIM content and a look at what we’re reading. Please keep emailing tips and suggestions or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
TOP STORY: The media have tried to toss Newt Gingrich into hot water after arguing that the Palestinian people were “invented.” Cliff Kincaid asks, however: “But what if his statement was true? And what if a true reading of history reveals that the current approach of the U.S. government—that of forcing Israel to negotiate the creation of a Palestinian state—represents capitulation to the Muslim Brotherhood, which originally gave rise to the Palestinian movement to ‘liberate’ Israel?” http://bit.ly/ssf37K
NEW VIDEO: Why are Jewish voters, a longstanding Democratic bloc, starting to look to the Right? The AIM video crew did some asking around at the recent Republican Jewish Coalition Convention.
MEDIA WATCH: The Law of Diminishing Returns be damned, ABC broke records with its Saturday night GOP debate. But despite the great numbers, Don Irvine reports: “it was heavily criticized by conservatives for the liberal bias displayed by moderators Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos, as they appeared to be more interested in getting the candidates to attack each other rather than President Obama, whom each of them is vying to succeed next year.” http://bit.ly/uQeDn1
BAD ADS: A potential media and advertising scandal is now underway after Lowe’s Home Improvement pulled their ads from an edgy TLC show: “The retail giant stopped advertising on TLC’s ‘All-American Muslim’ after a conservative group known as the Florida Family Association complained, saying the program was ‘propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values’.” Do you watch the show? http://bit.ly/spuLeo
COOPER TROOPER: CNN doesn’t typically have much to boast about, but they are at least making MSNBC’s Ed Shultz sweat the ratings game. Don Irvine reports: “Anderson Cooper 360 is proving to be CNN’s most reliable show in terms of ratings and continues to be a thorn in the side of the network’s closest competitor, MSNBC.” http://bit.ly/rUGzXX
MILITARY LIBEL: AIM guest columnist Alan Caruba is outraged by blatant bias from The Washington Post when covering US Military operations in Iraq: “The point of Ms. Sly’s article was to defame all who served in Iraq and, of course, those who died there. Quoting an Iraqi who lost family members, she encapsulated the theme of her article. ‘They are barbarians,’ he said. He went on to say, ‘We wish they never had come’.” http://bit.ly/rtBDZB
FUNNY MATH: Where do you go to defend the Occupy Movement after it has been exposed? Don Irvine reports that Michael Moore has to hit the late night shows: “Moore reiterated his support for the movement and claimed that there are, in effect, ten million leaders of the movement spread across the country and that he was glad that there wasn’t a singular leader to the movement because Fox News would have tried to choke that person around the neck.” At least it’s dark comedy. http://bit.ly/t6RZWk

WHAT WE’RE READING: The Supreme Court made news today with its agreement to hear the case regarding SB 1070, the controversial Arizona immigration enforcement law: “The justices said they will review a federal appeals court ruling that blocked several tough provisions in the Arizona law. One of those requires that police, while enforcing other laws, question a person’s immigration status if officers suspect he is in the country illegally.” Debbie Downer doppelganger Justice Kagan has also recused herself. http://bit.ly/tK2uG0
OCCUPY SOMETHING: In a last ditch effort for attention before the holidays, the Occupy gang wants to disrupt international commerce in a big way: “Anti-Wall Street protesters along the West Coast joined an effort Monday to blockade some of the nation’s busiest docks, with the idea that if they cut off the ports, they cut into corporate profits.” http://bit.ly/tuc1pe
