Once an example of South American democracy and economic success, due to the democratic freedoms its citizens once enjoyed along with the oil riches of the country, Venezuela is now staring at an exodus of its people to the U.S.
For the first time ever, the number of Venezuelans applying for asylum in America topped the list of asylum seekers, passing the likes of Mexico and El Salvador.
Why? Starvation, shortage of food supplies, dire medical care and hospital conditions and crime are driving the once-proud citizens of Venezuela to America.
Thanks, socialism, for ruining a once-proud and once-flourishing country.
