A New York Times op-ed Sunday extolled the virtues of socialism while also praising freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and accusing the men at Fox News for having a “sickly obsession” with her.

The op-ed, penned by David Bentley Hart, an affiliated scholar of the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, defended socialism while ignoring its failures.

Hart omits any mention of the situation in Venezuela where socialist policies have virtually destroyed the country.
As for Hart’s praise of Ocasio-Cortez’s cleverness and charisma he likewise fails to mention the numerous gaffes that she has committed during her four months in office and how she has been rebuked by House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi for pushing her own agenda ahead of the Democratic Party’s.
