John Feely, the U.S. ambassador to Panama, recently resigned from his position because of President Donald Trump’s policies.
Feely was nominated by Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama and officially resigned from the State Department on December 27.
Despite these facts, an NBC producer, Mary O’Hara, reported that Feely resigned “over the president’s comments” on Africa and Haiti. The comments that O’Hara referred to include the alleged “sh**hole countries” comment.
O’Hara later deleted the social media post after comments from social media users pointed to a Reuters article that debunked her claim.
