Nancy Pelosi, who has served in Congress since 1987 and as the top Democratic leader in the House, survived a leadership challenge vote by a 134-63 margin. However, at least a third of the Democrats voted for the underdog, Ohio congressman Tim Ryan, which highlights the internal dissent among party politicians.
