If the NBC News’ headline reads, “Nancy Pelosi hangs on to remain House Democratic leader,” then maybe the Democratic Party is in big trouble among their politicians, operatives and supporters?
There is a schism, or at least a major disagreement, within the Democratic Party’s congressional representatives in the House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi, who has served in Congress since 1987 and as the top Democratic leader in the House, survived a leadership challenge vote by a 134-63 margin. However, at least a third of the Democrats voted for the underdog, Ohio congressman Tim Ryan, which highlights the internal dissent among party politicians.
