Accuracy in Media

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel went after the Senate Republicans’ latest effort to replace parts of Obamacare led by Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

The media covered it as if Kimmel were a legitimate news source, but forgot to cover how Kimmel was fed Democratic Party talking points in his anti-GOP monologues.

The Daily Beast found that Kimmel’s staff was in contact with anti-Obamacare-repeal activists, including Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer:

Behind the scenes, the ABC star was getting an assist. Kimmel and his team were in touch with health care officials, charities and advocacy groups, multiple sources told The Daily Beast. He also was in touch with the office of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) who, according to a source familiar with their conversations, “provided technical guidance and info about the bill, as well as stats from various think tanks and experts on the effects of [Graham-Cassidy].”

Conservative media outlets such as Townhall and The Federalist covered this glaring omission, but the mainstream media did not point it out on their websites.
