Media Quick to Praise Second-Place Finish of Geert Wilder’s Far-Right Politics in Dutch Election

The liberal media was quick to praise the second-place finish of far-right politics at the Dutch polls this week, where Geert Wilder’s alleged anti-immigration rhetoric lost to a center-right party led by the current prime minister. The Week also compared Wilder’s loss to U.S. President Donald Trump’s populism and wondered if populism is dead [1] (seriously?!).

The media also overlooked how Wilders will have a say in the formation of the new government as his party finished second, which gives Wilders some political power.
