First, it was Bernie Sanders, but now it’s Dianne Feinstein, Dick Durbin and Al Franken joining in on the religious litmus test for government officials and judicial nominees.
Sanders asked a nominee to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Russell Vought, about his religious views during his hearing. At the time, conservatives were outraged by the appearance of a religious litmus test, which could be a violation of the Constitution.
Now, fellow Democrats Feinstein, Durbin and Franken grilled one of President Donald Trump’s judicial nominees on her Catholic religion influencing her verdicts as a judge.
Would the Democrats ask a practicing Muslim similar questions? Most unlikely.
