Hillary Clinton claimed in a March CNN townhall that she’s the best clean energy candidate and was not a fan of coal energy. Oops.
The moment occurred after a man at a roundtable event in West Virginia “called out” Clinton for her earlier remarks on the coal industry, NBC News’ Monica Alba reported.
“What I said was totally out of context from what I meant,” Clinton responded. “It was a misstatement.”
“I made one misstatement, and I apologize for that,” she added. “It was not meant to be taken the way it was taken.”
