GQ’s Citizen of the Year is Colin Kaepernick, Unemployed NFL Athlete

GQ, the magazine that employs anti-Trump pundit Keith Olbermann, chose [1] Colin Kaepernick, the outspoken national-anthem-protesting football player as its Citizen of the Year. GQ editors said the following about Kaepernick:

Much has changed in the four years since Colin Kaepernick [2] was last on the cover of GQ [3]. Back then he was a rippling superhero of a quarterback on the rise. But a simple act—kneeling during the national anthem—changed everything. It cost him his job. It also transformed Colin Kaepernick into a lightning rod and a powerful symbol of activism and resistance [4].

Kaepernick is unemployed and has filed a grievance against the NFL owners for colluding not to employ him.
