Fox News hit a low point for the year on Friday night as MSNBC beat the top-rated cable news network in the 25-54 primetime demographic, which is what advertisers use to decide where to spend their ad dollars. Fox did better in total viewers, losing only the 9 p.m. slot–which they have done consistently since firing Bill O’Reilly and moving Tucker Carlson to 8 p.m. with The Five taking on Maddow.
It may just be one night, but it is emblematic of the struggles Fox News has faced since rejiggering their lineup.
