Accuracy in Media

Beating back rumors in the liberal media that Fox News would not cover the live Congressional testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller because of the possible negative implications for President Donald Trump, the network not only covered the hearings but beat all the networks in total viewership.

According to Nielsen, Fox News averaged 3 million viewers, followed by MSNBC (2.4 million total viewers), ABC (2.12 million), NBC (1.99 million), CBS (1.91 million) and CNN (1.5 million).

NBC finished first in the 25-54 demo with 536,000 viewers, ABC was second, with 489,000 viewers, followed by Fox News Channel (441,000 viewers), CBS (406,000), CNN (365,000) and MSNBC (347,000).

Guests on MSNBC asserted on two different occasions that Fox would be the only broadcast or cable news network not to air the testimony live to protect Trump.
The claim was given extra life by author Stephen King, who spread the rumor on Twitter to his 5 million followers. This despite the network’s promotion of its testimony coverage in commercials nearly a week in advance of the hearings.
