Accuracy in Media

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich has joined CNN the network as a commentator the network announced Tuesday.

Kasich, who has been a frequent critic of Trump, joins a network that has been battling with the president since he took office and has been called “fake news” on more than one occasion by Trump.

After the election, CNN has been adding to its anti-Trump forces with the recent signing of former Republican Rep. Mia Love (Utah), who lost her reelection battle and was singled out by Trump for not giving him any “love,” as well as former Democratic congressman Luis Gutierrez while MSNBC signed  former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), who lost in November.

From 2001-2007, Kasich hosted a show called “Heartland” on Fox News and was elected governor in 2010 and won reelection in 2014.  He also ran for president in 2000 and 2016 and is considering a challenge to Trump in 2020.
According to CNBC Kasich ruled out a return to Fox News which has taken on a decidedly pro-Trump bent in the last few years.
