CNN has been criticized significantly by conservatives for its anti-Trump headlines, chyrons, pundits and contributors.
In a recent social media post on Twitter, CNN blurred the lines between journalism and political advocacy by listing every single Republican politician in the Florida state legislature who voted against a recent bill to ban assault weapons:
Here are the 71 Florida lawmakers — all of them Republicans — who refused to vote for an assault weapons ban, along with their NRA rating https://t.co/B6SAl9v7VZ pic.twitter.com/quicj74Tz6

For reference, here is what Everytown for Gun Safety, a pro-gun-control advocacy group, posted on social media — a list of politicians who took donations from the National Rifle Association:
If you missed our ad in the @nytimes this morning, you can find out how much your leaders have taken from the NRA here: https://t.co/6T8e65mjjA. #ThrowThemOut pic.twitter.com/MmZJLbcNwJ

Typically, social media posts like CNN’s belong to political advocacy groups, which have specific tax status to do so.
