Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D.-Mass.) released a video this week announcing that she will form an exploratory committee in preparation for running for president in 2o2o.
The video begins with a biographical sketch of Warren, from growing up with a father who raised his family on a janitor’s salary with help from his wife who worked at Sears to law professor and the eventually a U.S. Senator. It then moves on to her fight against Wall Street and big corporations and how the wealthy have profited at the expense of the middle class who Warren says she has been fighting for most of her life.
“Our government is supposed to work for all of us, but instead has become a tool for the wealthy and well-connected. The whole scam is propped up by an echo chamber of fear and hate designed to distract and divide us,” while images of Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and others play in the background.
“People who will do or say anything to hang on to power, point the finger at anyone who looks, thinks, prays, loves differently than they do,” Warren continues by using the image of White House senior advisor Stephen Miller to take her shot at the Trump administration.
Warren concludes by saying that “This dark path doesn’t have to be our future,” and that if “we organize together if we fight together if we persist together we can win–we can we will.”
