President Donald Trump has lived up to his campaign promise of nominating another conservative-minded Supreme Court justice in the mold of the late Antonin Scalia. He chose Judge Neil Grouch to fill the ninth slot that was left vacant after Scalia’s passing.
Judge Gorsuch is known to be a constitutional conservative and a strict constitutionalist, in the model of Justice Scalia. He is currently serving as a judge on the 1oth Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Democrats plan on filibustering Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, but with the nuclear option gone (thanks to former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid), questions remain whether the filibuster will be effective or time-consuming.
