Sen. Dick Durbin (D.-Ill.), has made at least one other questionable claim after exiting a closed-door meeting.
Last week, Durbin claimed that President Donald Trump said that Africans and Haitians are coming to America from their “sh**hole countries” during a bipartisan meeting held between the president and Congress.
Several Republican senators denied Trump made the comment, while other Republican senators confirmed it. The White House and Trump denied that he said the alleged comment as well.
Durbin has had at least one prior incident of a questionable claim after a closed-door meeting, Townhall reported. After meeting with then-President Barack Obama and Republicans, Durbin told the media a Republican leader told Obama, “I cannot even stand to look at you.”
Durbin’s claim was denounced by then-White House spokesman Jay Carney.
