Leadpages, the website host, asked 2nd Vote to shut down their website on Thanksgiving Day because the company perceived the #AnywhereButTarget boycott promoted hate and discrimination. The website is back up, but it is the company’s right to enforce their own rules:

The server company, Leadpages, ordered 2nd Vote to take down the page promoting the Target boycott in an email Wednesday, saying it violated the company’s terms of service.

“You see, at Leadpages, we strive to create an inclusive workplace that upholds the dignity of all people,” the company’s director of operations, Dough Storbeck, wrote in the email. “We value, respect, and celebrate everyone’s individualities and honor their unique strengths from all different walks of life.”

2nd Vote was ordered to shut down the website by no later than 8 a.m. Thanksgiving day.
