Both Mississippi and Wisconsin are now opting out of the controversial Common Core standards, which is a federal, top-down education curriculum that has received significant pushback from parents across the U.S. 19 states have withdrawn or paused implementation of the standards, with 4 completely withdrawing from it altogether (Indiana, Louisiana, Oklahoma and South Carolina).
