President Donald Trump made the announcement to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which led to condemnation by the United Nations Security Council (yet the condemnation declaration was vetoed by the U.S.).
As a response to Trump’s proposed move, Israeli officials are moving to name local streets and a high-speed rail station after him. Here’s what could be named after the U.S. president:
- The proposed high-speed rail station in Jerusalem
- A street in Jerusalem
- A street in the coastal city of Ashkelon
- A local park in northern Israel
CNN covered the news and called it a “Trump-naming frenzy,” which is fair considering that Trump is not an Israeli citizen.
