Nancy Pelosi, the top-ranking House Democrat official, told reporters she is planning to run again as House Speaker if her party takes control of the House of Representatives this fall.

Pelosi has not been willing to let go of her seniority within the party, in part due to her prolific fundraising for the Democratic Party and its candidates.

But CNN saw how candidates for her own party are publicly disavowing or avoiding comment on whether they would vote for her to be House Speaker should the Democratic Party get the majority.

CNN said that despite Pelosi’s fundraising numbers, it is an unusual trend for political candidates to publicly state their opposition to a top leader in their own party and one who could become a legislative colleague.
