Retiring U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake (R.-Ariz.) has been a strident anti-Trump voice in the Republican Party. He continued his criticism in an interview on CNN this week.
Flake went on to call for a primary challenger to go against Trump in 2020. CNN’s Jake Tapper asked whether Flake himself would challenge Trump.
Instead, Flake told Tapper that Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Sen. Ben Sasse (R.-Neb.) and other unnamed governors could be more viable Republican primary challengers. But, he remained strong in his anti-Trump criticism and would not confirm he would run against Trump.
