CNN accused President Donald Trump of “seiz[ing] on what he calls a ‘terrorist attack’ in London” in a tweet Tuesday, despite reports from the BBC and others calling the attack in front of the Houses of Parliament just that.

The CNN tweet links to a report that says the Metropolitan Police in London were investigating the event as a “terrorist incident” and contains a quote from Neil Basu, assistant commissioner – specialist operations at the Metropolitan Police, who said it “appears to be a deliberate attack.”
Trump’s tweet which was issued earlier in the morning only repeated what authorities had been saying all morning about the attack, as well as the BBC which was closer to the ground than CNN.
“Another terrorist attack in London…These animals are crazy and must be dealt with through toughness and strength!” Trump tweeted at 7:42 a.m.
