A recent analysis from CNN, which often criticizes President Trump, correctly reports that the recently announced aluminum and steel tariffs policy is bad for Americans, and in particular, Trump voters in red state America.
After the president’s announcement last week that he would impose tariffs, multiple organizations, companies and international groups condemned the decision.
Still, the White House has not backed down from the announcement, with the President reiterating that he will not back down in face of opposition from within his own party this week. House Speaker Paul Ryan, for example, informed the media that his office opposes the tariffs proposal.
The analysis , headlined, “A Trump trade war would hit red states hard,” cited companies such as Boeing that could be affected by the tariff proposal. But, supportive advocacy groups and other tariff-supporting organizations were not quoted in the analysis.
