Bill and Hillary Clinton wrapped up their 13-city speaking tour this past weekend much the way it began by slashing ticket prices as demand continued to wane to hear the former president and first lady.

According to The Seattle Times, tickets to their event on Friday were selling for as little as $20 in the secondary market.

Premium seating at Seattle’s WaMu Theater were going for $829– a 54% drop from the $1,785 from the price announced in November.

Sales were so slow that organizers resorted to Groupon to try and sell tickets.

The opportunity to “hear one-of-a-kind conversations with the two leaders as they tell their stories from some of the most impactful moments in modern history,” as described by the promoters was apparently not enough to get people to part with their money.

“I really believe that we are in a crisis, a constitutional crisis,” Hillary Clinton told the audience according to the Times.  “We are in a crisis of confidence and a crisis over the rule of law and the institutions that have weathered a lot of problems over so many years. And it is something that, regardless of where you stand in the political spectrum, should give real heartburn to everybody. Because this is a test for our country.”

Bill Clinton chimed in that the FBI inquiry into his wife’s use of a private server –located in her home to send government emails “the single worst thing I ever lived through in my entire public life” and “phony as a three-dollar bill.”

“And I hope you didn’t miss,” he added, “that [former FBI head] Jim Comey was using his own email to do official business.”

Live Nation which handled the tour was hoping that the Clinton’s would be a big draw but wound up slashing prices and closing off sections of arenas to make them appear fuller than they were.
