Hillary Clinton tweeted her support for accepting legitimate democratic election results on Oct. 24, 2016, and criticized then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying that Trump’s lack of endorsement on respecting election results was a “direct threat to our democracy”:
Donald Trump refused to say that he’d respect the results of this election.
That’s a direct threat to our democracy.

But since her loss a year ago, Clinton has questioned election results and blamed Russia and the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with the Russian government.
In a September 2017 interview with NPR , she said, “I wouldn’t rule it out” that the election was illegitimate.
This past week, she used the same response in an interview with Mother Jones , telling the interviewer that “there are lots of questions about its legitimacy” and blamed voting irregularities for her losing Wisconsin.
