Hillary Clinton tweeted her support for accepting legitimate democratic election results on Oct. 24, 2016, and criticized then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying that Trump’s lack of endorsement on respecting election results was a “direct threat to our democracy”:
Donald Trump refused to say that he’d respect the results of this election.
That’s a direct threat to our democracy.

But since her loss a year ago, Clinton has questioned election results and blamed Russia and the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with the Russian government.
In a September 2017 interview with NPR, she said, “I wouldn’t rule it out” that the election was illegitimate.
This past week, she used the same response in an interview with Mother Jones, telling the interviewer that “there are lots of questions about its legitimacy” and blamed voting irregularities for her losing Wisconsin.
