Why did ABC News and NBC News run articles on a massive recall election protest in socialist Venezuela, but not CNN or CBS News on their homepages?
ABC News noted that Venezuela barred foreign media from entering the country this week and NBC News noted that opposition protesters endured two hours of waiting at a police line, until the authorities allowed them to continue their march to opposition-friendly areas of the capital city of Caracas.
But, NBC News failed to mention how the most recent presidential election, where opposition leader Henrique Capriles barely lost in a controversial election by several hundred votes (there was no recount, by the way) to Nicolas Maduro, a socialist and the heir to Hugo Chavez’s ‘chavismo’ (a phrase used to describe Chavez’s populist politics).
